Details
Can you sew on a sewing machine?
Have you ever wanted to try making your own quilt?
NOW is your chance!
We are offering a 3-4 week beginning quilt class, scheduled for April 25, May 9 and May 30 (Homework in between!).
We will add an extra class if needed.
We will guide you through every step of the way to end up with a beautiful,
completed lap size quilt, 48”x58”.
Class size is limited*
Requirements: Bring your own working sewing machine and being familiar with how to use it (helpful to bring the manual if you have it).
Materials needed:
Spare needle/s for your machine, just in case! 100% cotton fabric
1 yard of a dark color
1 yard of a medium color
1 yard of a light color(If you prefer, we can pre purchase this fabric for you, let’s chat!)
3 yards of a backing fabric
Quilt batting: 80% cotton/20% polyester- throw size 50 x 60 inches
Acrylic ruler (at least 3” x 15”)
Self-Healing cutting mat ( at least 12 x 18 inches)
Rotary cutter
Seam ripper
Pins
Small scissors /"snips"
Thread – a neutral, white, beige, light gray in color works best
Iron (needed at home)

Fabric source suggestions: Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Fab Lab in West Acton (new quilt shop!), Bits n Pieces in Pelham NH, Fabric Place Basement in Natick (great prices if you don’t mind a ride) plus many online sites.
